Business is business

Washington D.C July 3-July 6 2009 was the 46Th annual Islamic convention organized by ISNA(ISLAMIC SOCIETY OF NORTH AMERICA) I went there and noticed some points i would like to share.

From the name of convention its clear that is the 46Th which mean that happening in last 46 years.

That convention organized by ISNA which consider part from Egyptian Muslim brotherhood or at least they both have so much cooperate.

There was a lectures and meetings but it was very few attended that, most of people went their were for shopping purposes.

Below are some pictures with my comments

That is out of the Washington convention centre which is minute from white house and FBI buildings,That made me thinking how it will look like if Christians in Egypt had convention in Cairo???

That is booth to sell cruise trips, yes in that convention which is Islamic(ISNA website insist if you rent Booth ISNA must approve your product and should be products permitted by Islam rules)

Yes that is booth for regrow hair products.

I spent so much time looking for that before take a picture, hookah(shisha) between QURAAN portrait in Islamic convention!!! doesn't it look like its part from Islam?

Yes that was there too, very Islamic products!!

They were nice at least they didn't ask me to DONATE!!!

Normal skirts made in India

Another big shock to me.

Isn't that just normal jewellery, why they ask people to DONATE and SUPPORT?

I had to DONATE to take a picture and take Muslim in America newspaper

Its fair to explain your opinion and also fair to Kashmir people to go to Islamic convention with papers say the problem made by Muslims!!!

Very nice work i liked it,i just wonder if she live in ISLAMIC country can she sell that while she doesn't wear head scarf?? i believe there is no way.good for her she is here

Very good work,

What disturbed me a lot the fact that most of business rep. didn't market their products no they ask you to support them and DONATE except few as the 2 artists and one more example for the travel agency,in fact she made me ask my self some questions, she sell a haj and umrah( Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca) as a pure business which means she doesn't use that word donate or support or made any sign as she Owen the heaven keys in her hands, also she doesn't wear head scarf (i didn't know even if she is Muslim or not but i knew she is Egyptian)which mean she does what she like and doesn't use Islam for business as most of other business.

Also that made me think could she work in that business in Egypt if she is Muslim but without head scarf?i believe there is no way!!!!

To work in that business in Egypt she must make a LOOK and A SIGNS that she just help you to practice your religion and there is no benefit for that agency, and may be makes you feel they pay from their pocket to help you!!

from here i send my respect for her,the one who doesn't use any religion to make money just business for business you need it we serve it,simple

Likely in those kind of convention NONmuslims go to know more about Muslims and Islam so i wonder how many thought that hookah is part from religion?or wear T-shirt with Michael Jackson picture on it?

  1. Were your donations very much for a product? It seems ok to do this but only if the donation is in line to what the current price for the product would be.

  2. I like business for business too. That sounds better than usually a "religion" as a way of making money. Christians do this too.

  3. My point was that I don’t like and its not from ISLAM at all to use the religion to make business, why they don’t take it as it is just business?

If they use religion for couple dollars business what other will do for millions and billions?

There are many believers in every religion that word DONATE affect on them even they haven’t enough money they could BUY something just for god as they have been mislead. How sad that is
    thank you jeannie

  5. Nice covering. I completely agree with you. Religion should not have a room for business.
